A photo-album/book will be the result of the upcoming six-month expedition along Lake Baikal shoreline. Contemplated format - 300 pages, 23 x 29 cm, full-colour with photo quality. The photo works will be completed as artistic representations, at the same time preserving the most realistic sensation of the Lake. However, Baikal's nature does seem imaginary at times...

Photographs will cover landscapes along the entire shoreline of Lake Baikal and will reflect local ethnical peculiarities, such as portraits of native population, their way of life and religion. The book will certainly make its audience familiar with Baikal's amazing world of flora and fauna. The body of the album/book will consist of stories, legends and sketches about folklore heritage of buryat, evenk and tungus nations, as well as shamanism, echoes of bon and Buddhism, which will lift the veil of mystery from profound and true wisdom. The objective of this project is to make people, who preach different religious doctrines and speak different languages, hold their breaths and peek through the austere and at the same time vulnerable kingdom of nature, where beauty existed, exists and will reign indefinitely. Our team has a special notion about this project: we hope to immortalize Baikal's beauty and its peoples' cultural and religious peculiarities without overlooking the splendor of surrounding natural environment of this unique place.
